Description

RV River Kwai, a newly built ship based on designs used by the original Irrawaddy flotilla, which was founded in Myanmar (formerly Burma) in 1865. RV River Kwai has been operated since 2003 up until present, continuing the rich tradition of river travels. The cruise sails alternatively both upstream & downstream on the Kwai Noi River of Kanchanaburi province located in the western part of Thailand.

Itinerary

Day 1

06.30. Meet at Hotel De Bangkok (www.hoteldebangkok.com) before leaving for Kanchanaburi

09.30. Visit the 100-year old giant monkey pod tree (ต้นจามจุรียักษ์), 20-meter high from the top to the ground with 15-meter perimeter. Its bush is 25.87-meter wide, and the diameter of the shade is 51.75-meter long, covering 2416 square meter.

10.00. Make a short stop at a local coffee shop, then, proceed to RV River Kwai

12.00. Embark RV River Kwai at Nong Ya dock. Lunch on board while cruising on Kwai Noi River.

Afternoon at leisure!

19.00. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 2     

07.00. Breakfast on board while cruising upriver on the Kwai Noi River to Muang Singh.

08.00. Visit “Prasat Muang Singh“, historical park with Khmer architecture from the late Lopburi period, some 700-800 years ago. The extensive ruins of the temple beside the River Kwai Noi are a potent reminder of the vast expanse of the Khmer empire. The ancient border town of Muang Singh, “City of the Lions”, was probably established as a trading post.

11.00. Continue by van to Tha Kilen Train Station. Take a 3rd class train to Saphan Tham Krasae passing over the long wooden viaduct. Passing Saphan Tham Krasae and Krasae Cave situated on the bank of the Kwai Noi River, an excellent view point. The cavern houses a Buddha image.

12.00. Continue by van to Mallika City, 1905 A.D. the retro-city reflecting the past Siamese lifestyle in the Chao Phraya River Basin. During the reign of King Chulalongkorn, Rama V (1873-1910 A.D.) the people’s way of life in 1905 A.D. was plentifully changed. The most pronounced was the abolition of slavery.

Lunch will be served at Mallika restaurant.

16.00. Back to the boat and cruise along the river.

19.00. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 3

06.00. Visit a local morning market at Chuke–ka–done

07.00. Breakfast on board while cruising to the world-famous bridge over the River Kwai. The sturdy Iron Bridge spanning the River Kwai Yai, which was a crucial part of the Death Railway, was built in some 16 months by Allied prisoners of war and Asian conscripts. The bridge was destroyed in Allied bombing raids towards the end of World War II and was later rebuilt by the Japanese as war reparations.

12.00. Disembark from RV River Kwai and lunch at a local restaurant

Visit Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, an interactive museum, information and research facility dedicated to presenting the history of the Thailand–Burma Railway. The fully air–conditioned centre offers the visitor an educational and moving experience.

Return to Bangkok safely

09.30. แวะชม ต้นจามจุรียักษ์ อีกหนึ่งแลนด์มาร์คสำคัญของกาญจนบุรี ตะลึงในความใหญ่โตของต้นไม้และกิ่งก้านสาขาสวยงามร่มรืน ต้นจามจุรียักษ์มีอายุมากกว่า 100 ปี ขนาด 10 คนโอบรัศมีทรงพุ่มเฉลี่ย 25.87 เมตร เส้นผ่าศูนย์กลางร่มเงาประมาณ 51.75 เมตร ความสูงจากพื้นดินถึงยอด 20เมตร มีพื้นที่ของพุ่มประมาณ 1 ไร่ 2 งาน 4 วา

10.00. แวะ ร้านกาแฟ Mulberry Mellow เป็นร้านกาแฟเปิดใหม่อีกร้านหนึ่งของ จ.กาญจนบุรี จัดร้านในรูปแบบของสวนกลางแจ้งแต่ร่มรื่นและ สวยงามด้วยต้นไม้ขนาดใหญ่ที่มีร่มเงาตลอดทั้งวัน ให้ทุกท่านได้เช็คอิน และถ่ายรูปมุมสวยๆ ไว้เป็นที่ระลึก

12.00. Check-in เข้าพักเรือสำราญ RV RIVER KWAI ซึ่งเป็นเรือลำแรกลำเดียวในประเทศไทยออกแบบรูปทรงเรือยุคสมัยล่าอาณานิคม (Colonial style) และรับประทานอาหารกลางวัน พร้อมชมบรรยากาศแม่น้ำแควน้อย

พักผ่อนตามอัธยาศัย ชมความงามวิถีชีวิตชุมชน2ฝั่งแม่น้ำแควน้อยและตื่นตาตื่นใจกับไฮไลท์ภาพวิวประวัติศาสตร์เส้นทางรถไฟที่สร้างด้วยตอไม้สูงเรียงรายโอบหน้าผาสูงชัน เป็นที่มาขอชื่อทางรถไฟสายมรณะ

19.00. รับประทานอาหารค่ำ บนเรือสำราญบรรยากาศภายใต้แสงจันทร์

ค่ำวันนี้ให้ท่านได้พักกายาดื่มด่ำบรรยากาศธรรมชาติยามค่ำคืนขับกล่อมด้วยเสียงหรีดหริ่งเรไรรอบๆเสมือนฟังดนตรีวงออเคสตร้า

วันที่ 2    

07.00. รับประทานอาหารเช้า

08.00. พาทุกท่านขึ้นชมปราสาทเมืองสิงห์ โบราณสถานของขอมแบบบายนซึ่งสร้างในสมัยพระเจ้าชัยวรมันที่7 เป็นยุคที่ขอมเรืองอำนาจสูงสุดได้แผ่อิทธิพลมาสุดตะวันตกของไทย จ.กาญจนบุรี

11.00. พลาดไม่ได้กับการนั่งรถไฟย้อนรอยประวัติศาสตร์สงครามโลกครั้งที่สอง ตื่นเต้นกับความระทึกหวาดเสียวของความสูงตอหม้อสะพานริมหน้าผาที่จบชีวิตเหล่าเชลยจำนวนมากมาย

12.00. จากนั้นเดินทางสู่ เมืองมัลลิกา ร.ศ.124 ไปเที่ยวชมเมืองจำลองย้อนยุคของไทยสมัย รัชกาลที่ 5 ให้ทุกท่านได้สัมผัส และได้ใช้ชีวิตแบบคนในยุคนั้นจริงๆทั้งบ้านเรือน อาหารการกิน ของใช้ไม้สอยต่างๆ และภาษาที่ใช้ก็เป็นแบบดั้งเดิมโบราณเก๋ไก๋ไปอีกแบบหนึ่งนะเจ้าค่ะ บริการอาหารกลางวัน ณ ห้องอาหาร ภายในเมืองมัลลิกา

16.00. กลับขึ้นเรือสำราญยามบ่าย ล่องชมแม่น้ำแควน้อยและแสงอาทิตย์ลับขอบฟ้า

รับประทานอาหารเย็น และพักผ่อนรื่นเริงตามอัธยาศัย

วันที่ 3

06.00. นำท่านนั่งเรือเล็กสัมผัสวิถีชีวิตตลาดเช้าชุมชนเก่าแก่ตลาดชุกโดน ร่วมทำบุญตักบาตร และเลือกชิมช้อปอาหารท้องถิ่น

07.00. กลับขึ้นเรือสำราญ และรับประทานอาหารเช้า ชมจุดบรรจบของแม่น้ำสองสี แม่น้ำแควน้อยและแม่น้ำแควใหญ่กลายเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของแม่น้ำแม่กลอง ล่องเรือสำราญชมวิถีชีวิตของชาวเรือชาวแพหลากสีสันผ่านแม่น้ำแควใหญ่ ชมวิวสะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแคว แวะวัดเทวสังฆาราม(วัดเหนือ)ซึ่งเป็นวัดที่สมเด็จพระญาณสังวร สมเด็จพระสังฆราช สกลมหาสังฆปรินายกพระสังฆราชองค์ที่19 ทรงผนวชจำพรรษาและเป็นบ้านเกิดของท่าน
